Cosmic Owls – One

It’s not an owl…

Owls have such a peculiar look to them naturally, it only seems fitting to question whether they are really of this Earth, or are part of something greater out there. Deeply affected (and probably traumatized) by the film “The Fourth Kind”, the idea that other-worldly beings can masquerade as owls has inspired a series of images I call “Cosmic Owls”. This is One, traveler of space and time, but leaves no evidence behind. Merely an observer, careful not to disrupt the moons and stars it passes by.

Originally drawn with pen and marker with cutouts over marbled paper, this version has been digitally painted in some areas to perfect some shapes to make for a cleaner image. Print is 5×5″ 12 pt coated cardstock.
