Description

An extension of my “Cosmic Owl” series, this Celestial Owl sits adjacent to that theme in more of an angelic realm versus an alien one.

A bit of an experiment for me, the original painting devoid of hard linework being a deviation from my usual style, it was difficult to know when to stop working on this and call it finished. I do love how it turned out, the lack of outlines gives it a softer more ethereal quality, which I think lends itself nicely to the angelic nature of this being.

To fit the print format and fill the space, I took elements from within the painting to create star clusters and digitally filled the background with a light to dark gradient to close the piece in a cozier space using colors already present rather than having the original shape of the quatrefoil panel floating in white space.
