The Crow
$15.00 – $30.00
Tabby’s Crow, a creative boon upon us all.
Description
Officially “Tabby’s Crow”, this piece was originally a commissioned piece of a pied crow (inspired by the ones in Kiki’s Delivery Service) holding a few various art supplies. My client graciously offered me the opportunity to allow for prints to be made while she kept the framed original. I loved the challenge of creating detail and depth on such a dark animal, and this might be the prettiest halo I’ve done to date. With this guy gripping onto traditional art supplies, I appreciate the connotation of the act of creating as defiance against an increasingly artificial world, especially in the face of AI generated content everywhere. He may be Tabby’s crow, but he is my new anti-AI mascot.
While this piece is in a different gray-scale from my Church Grim piece, they are intended to be companions of one another, which is why they share the arched shape and almost fully monochromatic coloring with antique gold accents. Originally hand-drawn with pen, marker, colored pencil, and metallic gel pen on textured acrylic paper.
